SWIMWEAR (need I say more)

I LOVE swimming, I just hate having to wear togs.
I feel so exposed and it reminds me how fat I am.
Anyhoo, I found these great togs at The Warehouse and they were only $40.00. It looks like a LBD (little black dress) and I was finally confident enough to go for my first summer swim.

The front boasts cup holders hehe and slight rouching which helps disguise the tell tale rolls.

And the backs low enough to show off my tattoo. What more could a girl want.

The only thing I have against them is that once they are wet you can see the round pads that is meant to give the bust some shape. They kind of ended up under my arms. lol
The best thing is it has a built in undie bit so you don't need any extra bikini bottoms.

WEDDING GOODNESS

My step daughter married her sweetheart just before Christmas.
So, of course it was the only excuse needed to go shopping.

I found this gorgeous, floral, vintagey (is that even a word) dress.
It just screams summer.
My only complaint is my cardy. I love it but wish it wasn't so see through.
I think a solid, non see through colour would be better.

I have to say I was stoked to see this dress in the December issue of the NEXT magazine paired with a yellow cardigan (after I had already worn this).
Yes folks. I am fashion forward hehe.

MORE BIRTHDAY GOODNESS

You don't become curvy without a LOVE of food. haha

So for my birthday morning tea, Dee, of sew-funky, my mum and myself went to a gorgeous cafe called Quirk Dessert right in the heart of Howick.

Its full of vintage goodness, quirky artwork and divine desserts served all day long.

Dee had Brownies, I had Lemon Meringue Pie and my Mum had Old Fashion Apple Pie. Yummy!

As you can see Dee and I were very happy to be allowed out without kiddies.

Me and my mummy.

I hunted everywhere to find a yellow cardy and yellow shoes.
I just lurve yellow :)

After our food fest Dee and I went to get our makeup done for the 40th part-ae fun.

MY BIG, FAT, FORTIETH BIRTHDAY!

Where do you go for the ultimate party frock when your a curvy girl?
City Chic is where!
They have stores all over New Zealand (and Australia) or you can order online.
There stores start at a size 14 so all you skinny minnies are out of luck.
Where else can I shop and only be a med. haha

Here I am with my oldest friend Deb. It was our combined 40th and we have been friends for 35 years. Here's to the next 35 years.

And with my favourite cousin in the whole wide world. As you can see Anne is a style diva. GORGEOUS!
